The Fordham Medieval Dramatists (FMD) are a self-directed collective of students at Fordham College at Lincoln Center dedicated to dramatic experimentation with and lively performance of the plays of premodern England, broadly defined. This website serves as our digital home; here, you can find films, critical reflection, interactive content, and other resources prepared by FMD students for our audiences in New York City and beyond.
You are invited to explore and learn, to enjoy and inquire. All of our performances are available as streaming video within, accompanied by student commentary. You can also find resources on early English drama, including links to play texts, scholarly journals, and other dramatic societies, along with details about the Interdisciplinary Capstone course, ENGL 4148, which drives FMD performances. If you’d like to know more about us, get involved in a production, or support our efforts to bring medieval English drama to modern audiences, please contact us at fordhammedievaldramatists@gmail.com. Please also notify us if you link to our site or cite us in your work, scholarly or otherwise — we’d love to hear from you!
